About Sheepfold

Alice Underwood and Sue Parker met in 2000, establishing Sheepfold in 2006. After 13 successful years working together, Sue retired in 2019 and Alice has continued with Sheepfold as a sole trader. Alice is also a breeder of pedigree Manx Loaghtan sheep.

Sheepfold kits are unique designed by Alice and Sue, including knit and felt bags, assorted wearables and cushions too. British wool has been used in all the kits.

Sheepfold has a range of wools from specific sheep breeds, many being from a single breed of sheep often in flocks here in Cumbria. About sheep includes information and photos of these breeds. In particular, supporting breeders of some of the rarer British sheep and, where possible, buying fleece or wool directly from them. These wools are used in some of the kits and sold as yarn for your own projects. Each year there is also a range of scoured and carded fibres for spinning and feltmaking.

Sheepfold products can be purchased securely on this website using either PayPal or credit card. I aim to dispatch goods within three to five working days and often sooner unless materials are out of stock; if so I will let you know.

If you are unsure of any of the knitting techniques needed, or wish to reknit the pattern using other materials, information on how to achieve this is provided.

Alice’s new books “Sheep of Many Colours” and “A Breed Apart” are now available!

One of my friends just returned from the UK with your book and we all loved it — being knitters and owning sheep — we all want to knit the patterns! DS (USA)
I cannot recommend you enough. Great range of kits and yarn, British wools and a helpful, personal service. Fantastic. LR
I have just received the yarn. It is beautiful. Thank you for sending it to me so quickly. DJ
